These videos explain exactly the issue I am trying to address. Art programs in our schools should be incouraged because art is the one skill that we can learn that makes us an individual. Everyone can do the same math homework and get the same answers. O JOY. Art, on the other hand is never the same. No two pieces of art are exactly the same and I think that is what makes us different from eachother.
Very true Chris... One thing you might want to let people know though... the type of "different" that you are referring to is a "positive" kind. Art helps children maintain their individuality and also find their own purpose. There are many children out there who would have benefited from having art in their life. Adolf Hitler was one of them. If he had gotten into the art school he wanted, I don't think that there would have been any f those events from WWII. His whole course of life would have been altered... but hey, as they say, "C'est La Vi"
I myself am a experienced musician and have a strong connection to this topic. In my High School years my friends and I had fallen victim to Creative arts budget cuts.
